There is no commission-based compensation at Pixel Canopy so you won't get any sales pressure or misleading promises, just honest answers about what Pixel Canopy offers and what we could do for you.
Domain email accounts are more professional than a generic Gmail or Outlook account because they let you send and receive emails from an address at your domain. For example, if your domain is https://example.com, your domain email address could be firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you already use another email provider to do this (such as Google GSuite), just let us know and we'll make sure to integrate that with your new site.
Domain email accounts from Pixel Canopy come with 5 GB of storage. The Basic plan includes one email account. The Plus and Online Store plans include 2 emails accounts.
More Email Accounts
Extra accounts are available for $2.00 per account per month. For example, if you have a Basic plan ($7.99/mo), and you want 3 email accounts, 1 is included with your plan, and the other two would be $2.00 per month each, so your total monthly subscription would be $7.99 + $2.00 + $2.00 or $11.99.
More Email Storage
Email accounts come with 5 GB of storage. If more is required, it can be purchased in 5 GB increments at $2.00 per increment per month. For example, if you have 1 email account (which comes by default with 5 GB of storage), and you want to add 10 GB of storage for 15 GB total, the cost would be an extra $4.00 per month on top of your base subscription.
We can also set up email forwarding addresses. These are different from an email account because they cannot send or store emails, they can only forward received emails to another address. For example, if your domain is https://example.com, you might want a forwarding email at email@example.com to forward emails to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Basic plans come with 3 forwarded email addresses, and Plus and Online Store plans come with 5. Additional forwarded email addresses may be purchased for $0.10 per address per month.
Just as the files on your computer take up disk space on your hard drive, the files of your website take up disk space on Pixel Canopy's servers.
For sites on the Basic plan, there is no disk space restriction, because customers cannot upload files to their site. For Plus plans, there is a 1 GB limit, and for Online Stores the limit is 3 GB. This is enough to accommodate almost all sites.
How much is 1 GB?
Saying there's a 1 GB disk space limit is pretty abstract, so to put it in more concrete terms, 1 GB is equal to approximately 8,750 copies of the following image:

As you can see, 1 GB is actually quite a lot for most use cases.
More Disk Space
Should you need more disk space, it may be added in 1 GB increments at a cost of $1 per increment per month. For example, if your site is using the Plus plan (which has a base price of $14.99 and includes 1 GB of disk space), and you want to add 9 GB for a total of 10 GB of disk space, it would be an extra $9 per month, and your total monthly subscription would be $14.99 + $9.00 or $23.99.
Pixel Canopy offers free customization for almost all small to medium sized business' sites. However, there are a few exceptions.
Migrating an Existing Site
Free customization might not apply if you're looking to move an existing site over to Pixel Canopy. For example, if you already have a blog with a bunch of posts, this site would not qualify for free customization. We can still switch the site over to Pixel Canopy and update the design, but we would quote you a price first.
If your existing site is relatively small, it still may qualify for free customization. Websites come in all shapes and sizes, so it's really a case-by-case basis.
Large Number of Custom Pages
If your site has 10 or more custom pages, it may not qualify for free customization. A custom page is any page that one of our software developers would have to create and customize. Custom pages are different from pages like blog posts or product pages, that you, the customer, could create and customize.
Take, for example, a business that has a lot of custom forms. Maybe they have 6-7 forms that all need their own page, and they also want a Home, About, Staff, and Contact page. At this point, the site would probably no longer qualify for free customization.
It's only "probably" because it's possible all the forms and custom pages are relatively simple. Basically, we will try our best to offer you free customization, but every business and every website is different, and it comes down to our discretion whether we're able to offer it for your site.
If it happens we are unable to offer free customization for your site, we would offer you a quote instead. This is the exception though, as an overwhelming majority of customers qualify for free customization.
When you first sign up for a Pixel Canopy site, you are able to view it at a preview url, so that you and the developer customizing your site can work together to get it looking the way you want before it's published live at your domain. The customization that takes place while your site is in this preview stage is free.
Once your site is published live at it's regular url, further customization is $5 per 6 minutes of developer time. We have found this is the fairest pricing method, because when customers do want to make changes to their live sites, they are usually just small tweaks.
If you know there will be a section that needs frequent updating, you may want to go with a Plus subscription, which comes with the option of having Updateable Sections. These are areas of your site that you can update yourself via a secure dashboard, without the help of a developer. We'll set it up and show you how to use it.
However, because your site initially set up and customized by a developer, you're going to be happy with the results. As such, most of our customers don't have any customization requests in most months. When they do have a request, it's usually small and costs them about the same price as a cup of coffee.
